Construction 12-Carrier Round Braid
Cortland Micron Orange is an all-purpose fly line backing made from premium Dacron fibers. Its tight, round 12-carrier braid creates a smooth, consistent profile that packs evenly onto the reel and moves through the guides with minimal friction.

Stretch-resistant construction, zero-twist handling and dependable knot performance make Micron a trusted choice for freshwater and saltwater fly reels. It is available in 20 lb and 30 lb strengths across multiple spool lengths for single-reel setups, multiple reels and shop spooling.

The bright Orange color is easy to identify on the reel and provides greater visibility when a running fish carries the fly line into the backing.

Superb color

Just perfect

Seems like a quality backing, the 100 yard spool was plenty for my 5wt reel. I havent had a fish run me onto the backing yet but i believe this line would withstand all the fish i target with my 5wt.

Backing

Didn’t spool up nicely and twisted up real bad but looks good on the reel once it’s on.

As with all Cortland lines it is just right. I only use Cortland line and there's no reason to try anything else.
