I fly fish ALOT. Basically every single day either from the surf, from the dock, from the skiff, or from the boat offshore. I've cast LOTS of lines and in the past year alone owned and basically worn out SA grand slam, rio permit elite, rio bonefish, and rio full clear floating (I don't blame the lines, I just catch lots of fish and the lines get ripped up on docks/rocks/reef etc.) This is my first Cortland line.
This line is phenomenal for Florida. I like that it's true to weight and not overweight like so many lines these days. I have it on an Orvis 8weight and got the 8weight line. It loads like a dream and casts beautiful straight into 15knots. Seems like tip sinks about 1.5in/second. Works very well in the surf for snook and jack. Works very well on docks for big snook that are just under the surface. Works well in the keys for bones and tarpon. Very very slick, typically one or two false casts for a 75ft shot. Not sure about the durability as I've only had it a week but the price is excellent and it just feels and fishes phenomenal.
Highly recommend you give it a try.
