FAQ

Cleaning your fly line is very important especially when fishing saltwater. Simply pull line off your reel into a clean bucket or tub of freshwater. Put roughly 1oz or more of Cortland’s Line Cleaner solution onto a clean rag or towel. Firmly squeeze the towel with Pro Line Cleaner around the line and slowly pull line through the towel. You should be able to see dirt or discolored streaks on the towel when finished.

The 444 SYLK DT does not have loops on both ends. There is only one welded loop on the front end of the line. We recommend using a tight nail knot to attach on the backing end.

Great line

I fish with excellent bamboo fly rods-Leonard, Orvis, Lyon and Colsoun - I have been looking for a line to match to these rods. I have been very happy with the Sylk Line. I fished in NY and VT and the line is awesome. I especially line the slightly narrower line diameter. I will be purchasing more sizes in the future.

Sylk

Sylk is a great "in character" substitute for silk lines. I like it on my vintage CROSS rods. It has many good characteristics of modern lines while playing its role on classic rods and reels.

The best line!

Downright the best line out there. Have been using these since they came out. Literally improve the performance of my rods. Love the thinner diameter and the color of these line. The castability is outstanding! Smooth, supple and just so good. The best line out there regardless of price. Graphite, fiberglass or bamboo, this line is the one.
