I used 13 lb down to 7 lb WHITE MONO successfully in the Carson, Truckee and Walker River (East and West flows) while Euro nymphing.. Great stuff!
Line works great as a EURO running line and leader line all in one. Some guys use lines as low as 5 lb, however I use the 8 lb range for better "grabability". The thinner the line the less the wind effects the cast. White line fairly easy to see. Since switching from 10-12 lb line catch rate has gone up....it just casts better.

The white leader for the first 3-4 feet directly above your Sighter section is easier to locate against the various backgrounds. Much easier to locate and properly maintain a tight line for a good drift of you bug.
