Trolling Line
The Cortland Trolling Fly Line is the Bees knees when it comes to top lining for trout, or salmon. I was introduced to the line 30 years ago and have been a fan ever since! When I lived in the Pacific Northwest a lot of fishermen used Cortland trolling lines for shallow water trolling for silver and king salmon but once I moved to California I have not met one fisherman who has even heard of the Cortland trolling line which is most unfortunate. I’m a huge advocate and promoter on the use of the line when top lining for trout. Weather it be pulling flies or lures the Cortland trolling line is my, go to method for targeting trout, so much so I designed a custom rod specifically for fishing it!
